Where the EDDY 24 and the EDDY 30 are mainly geared towards port operations, the terminal operations are better served by larger tug designs with higher Bollard Pull performance.
To address exposed area operations and more adverse weather conditions, the EDDY 33 has been designed. With a larger hull, this design accommodates more installed power, tank capacities and additional technical systems, such as Fifi and oil spill response systems, yet still remaining <500 GT.
Its raised bow, additional aft towing winch and optional stern roller, make the design ideally suited to do open water towage. Nevertheless all features required for harbor towage are still an integral part of the design, making the design particularly competitive for for more remote and exposed locations.
